Joseph, Not single action or double action. This is a striker fired gun with the trigger dingus safety with the restrike feature.
This is a difficult question as G2C is a strike fire pistol and DAO/SA concept does not really apply well here. Technically speaking, its a SA with restrike. I hope this helps.
This is a striker fired gun. It has a trigger bar safety and a long trigger pull for your first shot then a short reset, and crisp break for the second shot. And is not technically a DA or SA. It doesnt have second strike capabilities though like the G3C does, in the case of a light primer strike, you would need to tap, rack and check if you had a failure to fire Whereas most striker-fired pistols have to be manually cycled if there's a dud round in the chamber, the G3c offers "second-strike" capability; just pull the trigger again and hopefully that hard primer will be set off. So if 2nd strike is something that appeals you might consider the G3c instead, the second strike can also be valuable for dry fire training, as you dont have to constantly rack the slide.
no it is a striker fire gun which is not really a single action or a double action in a single action gun the trigger releases the cocked hammer the round fires and the action of the gun recockes it again for the next shot in a Double action the hammer starts in a down position and the trigger pull brings the hammer back and releases it to fire the gun a striker fired gun (like this one) does not have a hammer but has a firing pin that is under tension and the trigger releases the firing pin to strike the primer the gun fires and the action cycles resetting the firing pin to be ready for the next shot
Joseph, the Taurus G2C is a Hybrid Striker Fired Handgun as it also has Double Strike Capability. I own 3 G2C's and 1 G3C and they are very nice handguns, especially the G3C. Cheers and stay safe!
