I believe single shot pistols are legal in California. HOWEVER, I would contact Buds customer service to be sure. Contact Buds Customer Service at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. Or use the blue "Chat Now" button at the bottom right corner 9am-9pm Mon - Sun. I hope this helps!
Eugene, yes Sir they are. Details under Handguns here : -- https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/california_restrictions.pdf
According to the info Buds has on CA restrictions, *Permissible handguns that are NOT on the handgun roster:Single-shot pistols that are top-break or bolt-action with a barrel length of at least 6 inches and have an overall length of at least 10½ inches are permitted. So it doesn't look like this would have the overall length to be compliant. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/california_restrictions.pdf ----- The CA DOJ permissible firearms list does not show any altor firearms at all. https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search
