My husband bought me a rifle for Mother's Dayfrom buds I am wanting a handgun I'm being told I have to get the rifle in my name before I can sell it. I called gun stores they're telling me there is no registration if it was bought before July and I can do whatever I want is this true why am I being told different things.

Moneeka, the FFL is incorrect or did not understand your question. If a rifle was sold to your husband, regardless if he gave it to you or not, is registered in his name. Unless he bought it from a private sale, it is registered in your husbands name if purchased from Buds or any other FFL Dealer. Cheers and stay safe.
