Not safely no, 22LR and 22 magnum differ in length and more importantly diameter so you would likely see split cases or worse. But this comes with both cylinders and the reloading process involves removing the cylinder anyway so switching isn't much of an inconvenience.
NO, North American Arms states that it's not safe to shoot .22 LR in the .22 WMR chamber. It will fire (other has done this with a little issue) but it can result in damage or injury from repeatedly using .22lr in .22 WMR chamber. I hope this helps
A . 22 LR cartridge has a smaller diameter than a magnum casing, so yes, it would definitely be VERY UNSAFE to do that, but it would not seat properly inside a magnum cylinder; too much wobble. Use proper ammo in proper cylinders/chambers. You can actually fit a regular casing inside the magnum casing.
Wayne, no Sir. A 22 Magnum cartridge will not chamber in a 22 LR Cylinder and a 22 LR cartridge will be loosey goosey in a 22 Magnum cylinder. Precisely the reason (2) separate cylinders are included with the Combo Models. 22 Long Rifle, 22 Long and 22 Short is it for the 22 LR Cylinder. Cheers and stay safe!
