Why is there a "serial numbers available" list for this pistol?

I was not offered a choice at the time I purchased mine.

Checked Ruger's website, no recalls, so what difference does it make??

the select a serial number is offered on quit a few firearms, it is a newer thing buds is doing, and they are doing it because apparently there were alot of customers requesting to be able to select their serial numbers, i on't really cares what number is on my gun but there apparently are a few that like this feature.

Bruce, it is a side benefit. Many members and collectors buy multiple firearms and some want sequential serial numbers. I used this before and got exactly that. Cheers and stay safe!
