the select a serial number is offered on quit a few firearms, it is a newer thing buds is doing, and they are doing it because apparently there were alot of customers requesting to be able to select their serial numbers, i on't really cares what number is on my gun but there apparently are a few that like this feature. I've seen some people say "for collectors buy multiple firearms and some want sequential serial numbers. I used this before and got exactly that." Ain't my cup of tea but to each their own.
