It is a 223 Remington you can verify this by searching the upc code. And the sku number both of which say its A 223, I also looked on savages website and they don't make this rifle in a .222 Remington https://www.savagearms.com/content?p=firearms&a=product_summary&s=57317

William, This rifle is chambered in .223. Any .222 info you see on this rifle is a typo.

William, .222 is a Buds typo. Always trust the manufacturer's UPC code. This rifle is chambered in .223 Remington. Cheers and stay safe!
