I see this says 5" at the top but 4.25" at the bottom, I'm guessing from the reviews this is the 4.25" model, my biggest question is whether or the barrel is actually threaded or not.

Yes this barrel is "Threaded". The barrel is 4.25" but 4.9" including the threaded length and thread protector.
