So I got my layaway confirmation on the 11th saying deposit must be paid within 5 days or order will be cancelled.

Does anyone know if they count that first day, as in deposit is due on the 15th, or 5 days later so the 16th?

Nicholas, it 5 days from layaway activation. Whatever time on the 11th to that same time on the 16th.
