Just looked at both of those and they seem to check all the boxes for a California compliant shotgun, they have zero banned features, so this likely a technical glitch on buds website. I'd Call buds during buissnes hours at 859-368-0371, 9am-9pm eastern Mon-Fri use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon - Sat and 9am to 7pm Sunday To help you complete your order.
If a shotgun's barrel is less than 18 inches, it's illegal. This is one of the most frequently asked questions about shotguns. If a shotgun is less than 26 inches in overall length, it's 'short barreled', even if its barrel is 18" or longer. This is a strange point, but it's in the penal code.
Both of the shotguns in question had 18½" barrels the manufacturer websites don't list overall length but I have a hard time believing that the rest of those shotguns don't add up to 7½" I'd contact buds support to verify.
from everything I see they are CA legal I would check with the local FFL that would be handling the transfer for the most accurate answer https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/california_restrictions.pdf
Bil, there are no legal reason pertaining to the shotguns themselves. Buds website is in need of an update for State compliance anyway. I would check with your local FFL and perhaps have them contact Buds for the reason. Cheers and stay safe!
