Howa recommends a barrel break in procedur for this rifle to season it. Would Red Army ammo be a good choice for this? I understand they are bymetal bullets and may be steel jacketed with a copper wash. It seems to me that if the purpose of the break in is to smooth out tool marked that a steel jacketed bullet would be more affective than copper.

Bryan, for ultimate accuracy potential, I would do the break in with the standard ammunition you will ultimately be shooting Sir. I would assume copper bullets. Cheers and stay safe!
