Stacy, this will be subjective. You will get a different answer from a 6 foot 2 240lb gent as opposed to a 5 foot 7 175lb gent. There is no way of knowing who answers is closest to your size/stature. I can say that the P01 that I have shot is slightly milder shooting with the same ammunition as my brothers P07 and he agrees. Cheers and stay safe!

I think the P-07 is more pleasant to shoot.  The P-01 slide doesn't have as much mass/thickness as the P-07 slide (which was the same slide they used on the 40 cal P-07).  I think because of that, the P-07 is the softer shooter of the two.

Stacy, You could ask 10 people and get a split response. Weight makes very little difference here, size is barely any different - though the P-07 is a hair thicker at the slide. I prefer the fit and feel of the P-01. The P-07 is slightly less expensive. As far as less felt recoil. That is totally a subjective opinion.
