Rick, this will work on the High Point 40 cal S&W carbine. It is designed for a Picatinny Rail (As on the High Point Carbine) but not the MP 40 handgun. Cheers and stay safe!

It will fit as is on a high point carbine, the SW MP line uses standard pistol reddot mounting which is a seperate system then the picatany rail used by rifles and carbines, there is an adapter Vailable to run a rail on a pistol amd can be found here. https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0 Which out a top rail there is no way to run that optic, but that adapter should have you all set.

This WORKS on high point 40 cal S&W carbine but NOT on the handgun. It will fit any Picatinny Rail. I hope this helps.
