Wonder about using black powder cartridges with item 411549231, Cimarron new army 1858, 38spcl, 5.5"; does it foul quickly or need cleaning often during shooting? I have factory load and hand load ; real black powder.

Leslie, yes Black powder will have a faster buildup of soot/carbon so you will definitely need to increase cleaning frequency compared to standard 38 Special ammunition. Cheers and enjoy!

Yes, it will work fine but like any black powder....you need to clean really often. Immediately clean your gun after shooting session. I hope this helps
