Orin, yes, hollow points are more effective for stopping a threat or killing a rodent.

Orin, The 22 round point will penetrate more than the hollow point. If 22 is what you have for self defense, my grandfather taught me to stagger load the magazine with solid and hollow point with the first shot being a solid point.Cheers and stay safe!
