YES, mini shells such as Aquila WORKS fine in PW87. However, it DOES NOT like shells longer than 2 1/2 inches (well-known issue). I split my 3 inch shell open when I accidentally shot it through this gun. I hope this helps

John, yes Sir but, I would buy a box to test for reliable function as some shotty's, even pumps, have reliable issues with the short shells. If they work then stock up. Cheers and stay safe!
