It will have some recoil to it but not as bad as 338 rum or 338lapua. You could add a brake to it but you'd have to get the barrel threaded.

Anthony, in short, like a mule on steroids. You can look at a recoil reduction butt stock attachments called decelerator pads that will help immensely.

The 338 mag, especially any synthetic stock will kick like a mule.
