James, there is no top rail / mount to add a Red Dot by standard means. The rear sight can be replaced by a dovetail based mounting plate to add a Red Dot. Details from Pew Pew Tactical here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GamxZxs8yC0&t=28s

This pistol doesn't come optics ready, the do make a dovetail mount (Novak, and MSP both do) but I usually advise people against using dovetail mounts for reddots, as even in a 9mm the dovetail mount can break as the ripricating mass of the slide puts a lot of pressure on what essentially a very small piece, to try that with something like a 10mm and your likely going to have issues holding zero, and breakages.

Primary machine mills 1911s for optics, and because they mill a pocket for your specific optic it makes for a much tighter fit making it more secure and capable of holding zero, and virtually eliminates the risk of breakages. It cost a little more then a dovetail mount but you it will not put at risk of damaging your gun, your optic, or your self (broken dovetail optic can fly off and hit you in the face) https://primarymachine.com/1911-2011-optic-milling/
