Nope, not legal in Cook County IL. All semi-auto rifle with a detachable mag is illegal in Cook county. The only semi-auto rifle you can own there is SKS, M1 Garand, and maybe M1 carbine. I live in Chicago so I know this for a fact. I hope this helps
