I feel lucky by getting this rifle. The wood is beautiful but when I pulled off one of the "Savage" stickers it left a bunch of the sticky stuff on the wood. Does anyone Know what I could use to remove the sticky stuff without harming the wood finish?

I'd just use some dawn dish soap and a dish washing sponge

Use Rubbing alcohol (or vodka). Wet a paper towel or clean rag with rubbing alcohol, and rub the residue to lift it off. Will not damage the wood finish. I hope this helps
