This shotgun has a 3" barrel and will safely and reliablely chamber and cycle both 3" and 2¾" shells.

David, no Sir. It has a 3 inch chamber and will fire 3 inch and shorter 2 3/4 inch shells no issue. Same concept for shotguns as .357 Magnum being able to fire the shorter .38 Special. Cheers and stay safe!
