James, this pistol has a lower medium level slide rack effort and should be just fine. The slide has a machined cutout that reduces the weight of the slide on this full size pistol. Cheers and stay safe!
It is pretty average as far as recoil spring weight goes, the standard spring is a 14 pound spring, but this gun is heavy (33.3 ounces) and with good technique that weight can be used to assist you in operation of the slide. Also Wilson combat makes a lighter after market spring to bring the spring weight down to 11½ pounds.
