Kyle, this gun is legal with either the bird's head grip or the stock. Only restrictions on pump shotguns are-- Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder. Any shotgun with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds. This gun has neither so you are good to go. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf
