The XD barrels will fit in the Mod.2 (sloppily) but the Mod.2 barrel won't fit in the XD because the barrel lugs and locking blocks are different widths. The Mod.2 barrel lug/block is wider and overall beefed up, similar to the XD(m). I did not fire the mod.2 with the XD barrel but it does fit. I also remember one of the aftermarket barrel makers listing the same barrel for the Mod.2 that they offered for the XD and confirming it would fit.
