Barry, most manufacturers including Beretta make firearm packages that have 10rd magazines so their pistols can also be sold in states that have magazine capacity restrictions. The pistols are exactly the same but just have 10rd mags included. 10rd and 15rd mags are physically the same size. The 10's are just internally blocked to only hold 10rds.

Yes in this case the magazines are compatible, but this is not always the case, many people incorrectly believe that a glock 43 and and 43x magazines are interchangeable, or that a sig p365 magazine will fit in a p365xl, or that a glock 45 shoots 45acp bullets.
