I found a 3" inch shell cycle the best. Avoid low power shell. Standard 2 3/4 shell will work fine too (as long as it is not a low power shell). I hope this helps!

DeAndre, I have used Federal 00 Buck with Flight Control, Hornady 4 Buck with VersaTite Wad, Fiocchi #4 Nickle Plated Buck Shot, Sellier and Bellot 12 Pellet 00 Buck and RIO Royal Buck in 00, #4 Buck. The Federal and Hornady have the tightest patterns but the rest work just fine as well. Break in with Full power loads and test for function on reduced recoil loads. My Rock Island Armory VR-80 has a Heavy and Light gas tube for heavy and light loads.
