No, only do this with a 410ga that lists 45LC as an acceptable caliber, 45LC is a higher pressure round and if the barrel is not rated for that pressure you can have catastrophic failures ( the Henry axe is not rated for 45lc)

Jonathan, no Sir. Buds has listed several .410 Shotguns as .410/45LC. They are .410 Shotshell only and not .45LC shooters. 2-1/2" Chamber (2-1/2" Shells Only) .410 shotguns have a true .410" bore. .45 Long Colt uses bullets which are .451" if they're jacketed, .452"-.454" for lead. That's way too tight a squeeze, and you'd have quite a pressure spike. Add onto this the fact that .45 LC ammo normally generates 14,000 PSI, and .410 shotguns are only meant to handle 12,500 PSI, and you've got a recipe for disaster. Some .45 Colt guns can shoot .410s, but that's because a shot column can stretch wider, from .410" to .451", without too much problem. And anything in .45 Colt is built to take more pressure than a .410 shell generates. - Cheers and stay safe!
