Benelli Sport II
Recoil ( inertia ) operated and NOT gas operated. All Benelli Sport II models use their patented Inertia Driven operating system. I hope this helps!

Joe, it is Inertia Driven - the Sport II, with its superior reliability, faster recovery time, lower recoil and denser shot patterns all contribute to improved shooting.
