I have been looking for an inexpensive 22 bolt action that will handle 22 Shorts. It seems that the Marlin XT22 is not longer available. I have been told that any 22 bolt action should be able to handle shorts however I need to know for sure before I "pull the trigger" and purchase one.

I have been looking for an inexpensive  22 bolt action that will handle 22 Shorts.  It seems that the Marlin XT22 is not longer available.  I have been told that any 22 bolt action should be able to handle shorts however I need to know for sure before I "pull the trigger" and purchase one.

Robert, the rifle above is a Semi-Auto and will not reliable cycle 22 Shorts. Any Bolt Action 22 will fire 22 Long Rifle, 22 Long and 22 Short no issue.

Robert, if it is bolt action, yes it will handle 22 shorts. The Rossi RS22 is semi-auto.
