Most new gun laws grandfather in guns that were purchased prior to the new laws taking effect. Universal background checks really won't change the way you transfer a firearm from an ffl to yourself, they are mainly trying to create a comprehensive list of all guns and gun owners, amd the way to do this is require background checks for all transfers and close any exclusions, for example here in Oregon I can sell a firearm I own to a blood relative with no background check no ffl or transfer fee, so the government has no record of who currently owns that firearm, universal checks would require me to take my family member to a ffl and do a transfer/background check, it doesn't change the existing background check. Just makes them mandatory for all sales. And as far as bans and "High capacity" which really aren't high capacity they are "Standard capacity" there are still people fighting for our rights in the House and Senate, and there are many of us that WILL NOT COMPLY!!!!!!!!!!
