It works with both buckshot and rifled slugs. 2) For the smallest pattern and spread you want full chokes...however full chokes don't work with slug and some other shell. Joe, the DP-12 uses Tru-Choke thread patterns for additional compatible muzzle attachments. You will get the best slug accuracy with the Cylinder Choke and the best tight pattern with the Full Choke for Bird and Buck Shot. The only two shotgun loads for Buck Shot that will get the tightest pattern with the Cylinder Choke is Federal Buck Shot with the Flight Control Wad and Hornady Buck Shot with the Versa-Tite Wad.
