Justin, the SDS is good to go and gets excellent reviews. The Springfield is a little higher end so if you can bare the extra coin, I would. Cheers and stay safe!
YES, its a good budget 1911. Personally, I don't think you will get much more performance spending a little more on Springfield....I would get SDS or save A LOT MORE and get a 2011 competition gun.
I'm bobtail l honestly not a 1911 guy, but what if do if I was looking at SDS Imports 1911 is id email them a couple questions about their firearms "SDS Imports 114 Sherlake LN Suite 18 Knoxville, TN 37922 (865) 604-6894 Email Us Info@SDSImports.com" Ask them anything, and see how long it takes them to reply if they reply at all. I've seen people on here that purchase Turkish shotguns then can't never get any help or response from the importer when they have aN issue with their firearms. And just for giggles send an email to another manufacturer (a well known own one) ask the exact same question as you asked SDS. And see what the response time is. This will give you a good idea of if you want to deal with an importer as opposed to the actual manufacturer. Ive emailed Glock, Springfield, BCM, Ruger, SW (which was the slowest to respond) and Kimber. If they're not helpful when their still trying to get your money they won't be any more helpful after you've handed over your cash.
