Andrew, no Sir, the Shockwave is not legal in CA. Anything that chambers a shotgun shell and has a barrel less than 18", is considered a Short Barrel Shotgun in CA. Cheers and stay safe!
The only source I could find that states you can't have a Shockwave in CA, reddit and forum threads from 2017, nothing official on CA DOJ website and nothing in Buds CA compliance section https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/california_restrictions.pdf I'd contact a local FFL or the DOJ directly rather then take the word of random people on reddit. Use this contact form https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/contact ----------- Or "If you need assistance please email us at firearms.bureau@doj.ca.gov and an analyst will email or call you back. Thank you for your understanding. General Information Phone: (916) 210-2300 Fax: (916) 227-7480"
I kept digging around and noticed buds has these items listed as CA compliant. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/41019 And this one https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/415010507 And this https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411550737 And this https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/46401 And https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/80215 Some of those I linked to have shorter the 18.5" barrels the second one i linked too has 14.5" barrel so I'm not sure why the Shockwave would be any different
Andrew, unfortunately no. CA considers the Shockwave to be a short barreled shotgun.
