She shouldn't have a problem with recoil. Remember though with smaller pistols the recoils going to be heavier from being lighter and usually a stronger recoil spring to reduce recoil causing some women to have issues racking the slide. My wife likes her pistols to be small but every 9mm we bought she had trouble working the slide and heavier recoil from being lighter than a full sized pistol. So we ended up settling on a Walther p22 for her.
