It is lockable (with a padlock) bit the hinges and the handle where the lock attaches are made of Polypropylene, which is essentially just a plastic/polymere type material, it could keep smaller children out of it, but a really determined, teenager or home intruder could break in relatively easy with a hammer, or an axe

Sholom, it is supposed to be 'lockable', but the holes are pretty small, you would need a small lock.
