Michael, unfortunately it is not due to being a Semi-Auto with a Detachable Magazine. Details under Shotguns here : https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf
That depends on what counties you live in. This is illegal in cook county, Aurora, and Highpark. It is legal outside those counties without AWB. Check law HERE ( https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf ) I hope this helps!
After reading the IL compliance pdf on buds site https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf I gotta say James is right on this one, regardless of where you live in IL, this shot gun is not permitted. Some cities and counties have bans on ALL semi auto shotguns (which the VR60 is a semi-auto) and the one that don't have a ban on shotguns with a detachable magazine (which the VR60 also has) So Trin lives in Chicago maybe he thought this was a pump action (which its not) but as a semi auto with detachable magazine, it's a no go.
Michael, semi-auto shotguns with ability to accept a detachable magazine are a no-no in Illinois. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf
Illinois has no state law restricting "assault weapons". However, some counties within the state, such as the City of Highland Park, Chicago, Cook Counties, and Arora has AWB (Assualt weapon ban) making this shotgun illegal in these counties. As long as you don't live in these counties (check you local law too, call your FFL) this semi-auto shotgun with magazine should be legal to own.
