Bradley, the info I am finding online is conflicting Sir. Most sources say smooth bore but, I would confirm this with the the UPC code directly with Mossberg Customer Service before purchase at 1 (800) 363-3555 or by online inquiry here : https://www.mossberg.com/contact-us/
