More than you could shoot, unless your shooting daily, Most guys switch out the barrel for a better cartridge/chambering well before the barrel is shot out. If you are a world class shooter shooting nothing over 0.5 MoA you might notice a 308 going south around 4000 rounds, but even then it'd still put rounds down range for many, many rounds after, that with a bolt action it'd be really hard to shoot the rifling completely out of this barrel. Many conventional barrels in semi auto 308s are good for anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 rounds before being "shot out".
