Hello, I noticed that on the Ruger site, this pistol is model number 29100. Buds has it listed as model number 29100R. Does the "R" indicate that it is somehow different than the one on Ruger's site?

There is NO DIFFERENCE. If you look up the UPC# all retailers list this particular model as 29100. Only Buds listed this as 29100R. This "R" is likely an internal identification code for Buds, but it is the same exact model as 29100. I hope this helps!
