As long as you get an AR mag dedicated to 7.62 it will work with your lower. Many AR's are marked either Multi cal or 223/556 but are really the same thing.

One of the beauties of the AR15 platform is how flexible it is. Your 7.62X39 upper should work fine on a .223/5.56 lower with a 7.62x29 magazine.
