Not the easiest way to learn, but its not impossible. Get that good scope, with a reticle that will best serve your needs, figure out if you want MOA, or MRAD, a 1st or 2nd focal plane etched reticle and if you want one with hold overs or something thats easy to adjust on the fly (target turrets?) And a spotting scope with someone that can tell you if your hitting high low left right etc, and a good rest or a bag. YES, technically speaking this rifle is more oriented for hunting and the barrel is on the thin side. Thin/slim barrel will heat up faster so your grouping will widen up really fast with repeated shots. But it will do fine for 600 to 1000 yards shooting. Take a look at Primary arms or Swampfox for great quality and budget optics.... and you will have a great intro long range gun, I hope this helps!

Gabriel, yes. most .308 chambered rifles are sufficient as the .308 is an inherently accurate cartridge. A good scope, practice of basics will get you there at these distances. I have personally seen high end setups with mediocre shooters do worse than modest setups with skilled shooters. MOS B-4. Cheers and stay safe!
