Zachary, no Sir. Under federal law, a person must be 18 years old to purchase a long gun, which is a shotgun or a rifle, and 21 years old to purchase a handgun. (Including NY). If you are at least 18 you are good to go with this shotgun in NY

Zachary, age to purchase a shotgun is 18. As long as it is NY legal, which this is, it is ok to purchase at 18. The pistol grip makes no difference.
