Yes to both, this has a manual thumb safety and an internal firing pin block so the firing pin won't drop without pulling the trigger. Hope this helps.

Amy, no Internal Lock on this model either. Newer models do not have this feature. The Taurus PT-111 dis have this feature but was replaced by the G2c and G3c and the Internal Lock removed.
