The trigger weights right around 4.5 pounds. But there's upgrades to improve the trigger and things you or a qualified gunsmith could do to help improve the trigger pull weight, like Polishing it. My wife really loves her single/double action Walther p22 and it's got a decent trigger in it. Hope this helps. Oh and my wife's niece loves it and she's 7.

in double action (long and heavy) no but used as a single action (short light pull) yes it is my daughter was shooting my SR22 at around that age with no issues we started with just one round in the gun at a time
