My western Field 30-30 has a catch, that keeps the bolt from coming all the way out when I'm cycling the action, so to to remove the bolt I have to run it all the way to the back then press and hold the trigger to disengage it, I have to repeat this process when reassembling the rifle, also the bolt won't go back into its channel if firing pin is not on the cocked position.

Most likely it the trigger try holding down the trigger while you insert the bolt if that does not work call CVA @ 770-449-4687
