Hi, the Ruger mark IV just requires you to remove a screw. Some of the older models used a flat head screw, the newer models use a hex screw you need 5/64 Allen wrench to remove it. The screw is located right behind the front site post. It may be a little difficult to remove cause most manufacturer use thread locker for these types of screws. I'd recommend heating it up with a blow dryer, or just shoot a couple magazine threw the pistol and then try to remove the screw. Or you can try a penetrating lube Like pb blaster that should help loosen the screw. If for some reason the screws just to stuck to get I'd take it to a gun Smith before accidentally stripping the screw but you should be fine. Hope this helps.
