Yes, it has a beaver tail grip safety. I own the ria 1911 tactical, so only difference is this one has fiber optic front sight and absolutely love this pistol. I bought a 38 super Barrel from rock island armory and now I can shoot 9mm or 38 super by just swapping out barrels. This pistol made me love 1911s. Hope this helps.
