I don't think the lenght is the problem, its likely the other dimensions that won't line up with the inserts. If you look there are cutouts to hold the gun in place. And the maxus just won't line up correctly. If you ripped the holders out it could work with the maxus, but if your going to do that why not just get a cheaper case that's not molded?
Frank, the Maxus and the Gold are the same length but have different actual profiles. This case fits all Browning Auto and Pump Shotguns with barrel lengths up to 32 inches. ****Note**** Will not accommodate the Gold 10 gauge, 10 gauge BPS or Model 12s according to Browning.
