From what I'm reading it looks like it removes by removing the barrel and front bead sight. But I'd contact Mossberg just to be safe, their emails info@mossberg.com or by phone at 1800-363-3555. Hope this helps.

yes it is removable however unless you are taking it off for good I would suggest that you just get another barrel for the 590
