It should be fine I would also look at the ruger LCP and LCP II they at super small 9mm and I would see if any ranges have one as a rental to try before buying.
Jon, this is a great pistol to consider. This is a great unbiased review of all aspects of the NANO : http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/03/destinee/gun-review-beretta-nano/
If it fits your hand comfortably it's a decent choice. However a S&W shield, ruger lc9, or springfield XDS are better options.
Jon, no one can really tell you what is best for you. i would get to a local gun store and handle a few of the subcompact pistols first hand. Your body will instinctively know when you come across "The One " for you. Quality today is comparable across many models with equally good warranties in place.
I would go on you tube and research this pistol . Then I would go to a gun shop and look at one.
